Good afternoon, Local 00014 members,
Recently, UTE National sent an email with the subject line, “Notice of Investigation / Avis d’enquête – Allegations of Picket Line Crossing / Franchissement de ligne de piquetage.”
- This is a legitimate email from UTE National;
- This letter is NOT saying that you DID cross the picket line, but that the records provided to the union appear to indicate that you were working during the strike and/or that you did not receive strike pay;
- It is very important that you reply TO THE SENDER (adhocstrikebreakerscommittee@ute-sei.org) with all of your questions and concerns, because;
- The Local does not have any information about these investigations. We do not know who is on the list, or what information the committee has. We do know that some of the people on the list were on leave during the strike, or acting in positions that were deemed essential.
We’ve been advised by National that the committee attempted to avoid including people from these groups in their mailing list. If you received this email, all that is needed is to contact the committee with the details of your particular situation. If you are able to attach your essential worker letter (or other information) to your reply, that should save you any back and forth with the committee.
In solidarity,
Local 00014 executive
